ASCE Philadelphia YMF K-12 Outreach partners up with locals schools, educators, and organizations to enhance student knowledge and inspiration for civil engineering and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Our goal is to create opportunities and provide resources for curriculum support and hands-on learning throughout the Philadelphia region.
Many of our programs and classroom visits take place throughout the school year and are implemented by our numerous member volunteers. The planned presentations and projects are diverse and are targeted towards each classroom and the students. Past activities have included (but are not limited to) panel Q&A sessions, slideshow presentations on "What is a Civil Engineer?", road design computer programs, reinforced earth wall activities, and many more!
