On August 14th, 2013 the YMF hosted a technical presentation and facility tour at Amtrak's 30th Street Station. 36 people gathered for a lunchtime presentation given by Rich Lobron of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor Infrastructure and Investment Development Business Line. Rich discussed Amtrak's goals of improving Washington DC and Boston by adding tunnels, building new bridges, maintaining existing infrastructure, and the possibility of building a new right-of-way for high speed rail service.

Following the tour, Paul Roddy, 30th Street Station's Director of Facilities led participants on a tour of the station, pointing out the building's forward thinking design, original elevator machines, 100 foot ceilings, and a transportation mural preserved from the days of the Broad Street Station in Center City.
