On April 8th, 2013 Urban Engineers' Transportation Construction Supervisor and ASCE YMF board member, Kevin Brown, along with JBC Associates' Don Donovan served as tour guides on the PennDOT GR1 construction project to about 30 young engineers. Kevin and Don walked the group through the site explaining the many aspects of the $90 Million project and how it is only a portion of a larger plan to restore the I-95 corridor. The project consists of the relocation of Richmond Street, reconstruction of four Conrail bridges, construction of a 2,000 foot retaining wall and the rehabilitation of the Girard Avenue bridge over Aramingo Avenue. In addition, the project operates under the specifications of PennDOT, the City of Philadelphia, PWD, SEPTA, and Conrail.

Kevin, along with ASCE YMF board member Scott Cepietz as well as Widener University Alumni Jeremy Pampuch and Brett Coleman stayed around to talk specifically to the group of Widener students who attended the tour. They talked about what they do on a daily basis at their respective jobs and they also talked to the students about the importance of networking and taking the FE exam.

Below are a few pictures from the event:
