On April 23rd, 2013, the YMF hosted a Critical Issues Seminar along with MASITE and ASHE Delaware Valley at Field House in Philadelphia, PA. The Critical Issues Seminar is a yearly event which focuses on a problematic area in the field of Civil Engineering. A panel of speakers from different areas of transportation was chosen to answer a variety of questions from the audience. This year's speakers included Andrew Stober (Chief of Staff, Mayor's Office of Transportation and Utilities, City of Philadelphia), Rachel Yoka (Vice President, Strategic Business Planning and Sustainability, TimHaahs), Richard Lobron (Chief of Northeast Corridor Infrastructure & Investment Development Business Line, AMTRAK), and Dr. Donald Shanis (Principle, Pennoni Associates and Former Deputy Executive Director of the DVRPC ). This year's topic involved congestion and planning for future congestion. This event recognized the need to plan and develop strategic ways of allowing people to travel more efficiently in the Philadelphia area.

Many thanks to those who helped prepare for the event and everyone who participated!
