Philadelphia YMF President and outreach coordinators were invited to the Teens 4 Good Urban Farm Trolley Tour that took place on October 24, 2012 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The tour was organized by Federation of Neighborhood Centers (FNC) with a generous donation from Philadelphia Trolley Works. During the tour YMF officers were able to tour three of the five farms and met some of the Teens 4 Good youth and farmers/educators.
YMF was also able to learn about the impact FNC is making with respect to increasing access to healthy food, greening local communities, and promoting the positive development of our youth. This is one of the programs that FNC is planning to integrate the STEM learning program. This upcoming year, Philadelphia YMF is planning to support the STEM program that will be integrated into the existing Teens 4 Good program.
