Engineering Girls Camp, organized and hosted at Widener University on Saturday, February 4th, was once again a success. The camp hosted 290 girls who took part in numerous engineering labs throughout the day-long camp. Philadelphia ASCE YMF Outreach Co-Chair, Adrienne Nikolic was on hand to assist with the Water Treatment Lab. Through a hands-on experiment, the girls learned how Coagulant and Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) are used to treat drinking water.
This event would not be possible without the hard work of Dr. Vicki Brown and her staff at Widener University, the numerous volunteers that assist with the labs and panel discussions, and the generous corporate sponsors.
