October 22, 2011, the YMF in partnership with Pennoni Associates took part in the 18th Annual Philly Cares Day at the 3400 blocks of Crystal Street in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. YMF was assigned to that location with two other organizations; M-Pact Youth Ministry and Hope Ministries.

A total combined of 30 volunteers from all the organizations help the residents of that community revitalize and beautify the street block. Armed with brooms, paint brushes, paint and trash cans the volunteers swept the street and the front porch of abandoned houses, repainted the curbs and the numbers on the houses.
